Short Cuts^® is a new scissor adapter that provides awareness of grasp and release movements and expedites mastery of cutting skills.

The bumper between the handles prevents the scissor blades from closing, allowing only short, successful cutting strokes on the line. The child's eyes are drawn to the blades due to the inability of the scissors to close and this promotes the necessary visual attending to the cutting line. Short cutting strokes allow the non-dominant hand to keep consistent pressure while feeding the paper in the scissors. When mastery using the large bumper is attained, twist Short Cuts^® to the small bumper for more independent, graded movement.
